Noccundra is a township in south western Queensland, Australia[1]. It is on the banks of the Wilson River 145 kilometres from, and 80 kilometres west of, Thargomindah[2][3] and contained within the pastoral holding of Nockatunga Station[4]. The town was established in 1882 with the construction of the Noccundra Hotel (aka the Noccundra Pub)[5][3].

The hotel is Nocundra's only occupied building, housing a permanent population of four[5]. The stone hotel building is heritage listed[2]. An airstrip is behind the hotel[3].

Andrew Hume's ill fated expedition, to rescue survivors of Leichhardt's expedition, perished of thirst to the west of Noccundra[5]. Today a memorial to Hume is on the western side of the hotel[3].
