About OUM
Open University Malaysia or OUM is the 7th Malaysian private university owned by the Multimedia Technology Enhancement Operations (METEOR) Sdn. Bhd. It leverages on the quality, prestige and capabilities of its owners - a consortium of 11 Malaysian public universities.
Currently, the main campus is located at Jalan Tun Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. In addition to this, there are more than 53 learning centres throughout Malaysia and one of the latest being Kuala Lumpur Learning Centre at Wisma Angkasa Raya next to the majestic Petronas Twin Towers.
Since its establishment in 2000, the number of learners enrolled at the university has grown from 400 to almost 40,000. Almost 90% of the students are working adults, a majority of which are school teachers and military personnel.
Chancellors
Currently, the Vice-Chancellor of OUM is YBhg Professor Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Anuwar Ali. The First Chancellor was the late YBhg Datin Seri Endon Mahmood (the wife of Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Badawi) who was appointed on 16 December 2004. While, the Pro-Chancellor is YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Azman Hashim who is also the Executive Chairman of Arab-Malaysian Corporation Berhad.

It is a comprehensive and flexible e-Learning software platform that delivers a course management system, customisable institution-wide portals, online communities, and an advanced architecture that allows for Web-based integration with multiple administrative systems.
